Colonel Sorel, Resistance commander

Sorel was a sapper captain in 1940 who refused to hand his company's explosives to the occupier and walked home to Paris with them in a handcart. Since then he has taken a nom de guerre, a colonel's rank from a committee nobody has met and command of the armed groups of the Resistance in the city.

His fighters are young, poorly armed and ready to rise tomorrow. He wants them armed, trained and ready to rise on the right day, and he spends most of his time arguing with men who think the right day is today. He sleeps in a different flat every night and keeps nothing on paper.
