How to play

Renown, upgrades and Legacy

What you win in one level makes the next one easier.

Renown

Winning a level earns Renown: more for a finale, more for each star beyond the first. Winning a level again earns 50% of that.

NormalHard
Renown for a level won150300
Renown for each star after the first50100
Renown for a finale won400800
Renown for an interlude mission won100200

Reading a chapter's “What really happened” pages, once its finale is won, earns 20 Renown, or 40 with the Archivist.

Upgrades

Bought with Renown. They last for the whole chapter. In each branch, a tier can be bought only once the one before it is owned. Bought now, an upgrade takes effect at once and lasts for the whole chapter.

Every chapter's upgrade trees are on its pages in Lore.

Legacy

Winning a chapter's finale earns Legacy: 3, plus 1 for each upgrade branch you bought in full, plus 2 on Hard, up to 8 for the chapter. Legacy buys the nodes of the Legacy tree, which last for the whole campaign.
