How to play
Winning, losing and stars
Each side has its own objective, and the briefing shows both.
You win when you meet your objective, or, for an objective judged at the end, when you still meet it on the last turn. If both sides would win at once, you win. If nobody has won when the turns run out, the level says who wins by default, and otherwise the other side does.
You can also lose before the end: when the Law loses its capital, when a coup succeeds, or when you cross a line the level forbids.
| The game says | When |
|---|---|
| Objective reached | A side meets its objective. |
| Turn limit reached | The turns run out: the side whose objective holds at the end wins, or the side the level names. |
| The capital fell | The Law loses the district it must hold. |
| A coup succeeded | A coup succeeds against the side that governs. |
| The line was crossed | A side crosses a line its objective forbids. |
| Everyone lost | Both sides lose at once, and then the player loses. |
Stars
| Star | How to earn it |
|---|---|
| 1 | Win the level |
| 2 | Win within 75% of the level's turns, rounded down. When the objective is judged at the end, meet it already by then. |
| 3 | Meet the level's own condition, given in its briefing and on its page. |
Stars bring Renown and coins: see Renown, upgrades and Legacy and Coins and the shop. A level can be played again for the stars you missed.
